ISAR 2025 Spring Term Final Conference was Organized

In the last of ISAR 2025 Spring semester conferences, Mehmet Güllüoğlu's speech titled "Managing Risk in the Earthquake Zone: AFAD Experience" was listened to. Mehmet Güllüoğlu, former President of AFAD, shared the institution's experience in disaster management with the participants. Emphasizing the responsibilities of Turkey's location in a region with high earthquake risk, Gülloğlu shared institutional experiences on pre-disaster preparation, disaster response and recovery processes.

The conference revealed that disaster management is not limited to crisis response; it includes multidimensional elements such as long-term planning, training, institutional capacity and social awareness. Participants had the opportunity to gain a more holistic perspective on disasters.
